The Packers have been eliminated from playoff contention, but that doesn't mean that these next two games don’t mean anything.
“If you look at it realistically, a good half maybe three-quarters of the locker room, there’s been a lot of changes over there,” Larry McCarren tells WTMJ. “You have a new general manager, you have a new head coach eventually. And with change at the top comes change in the rank and file. If you want to be employed in Green Bay by the Packers, these last two games matter a lot. You will be evaluated just like it’s week one. Therefore, it behooves everybody to give it their best effort, to put out a performance, because you’re name is on it and that’s the way it’s going to be evaluated.”
The first test comes Sunday as the Packers look for a win against the Jets in New York. They then travel home for the final game of the season against the Lions.
“If you’re a regular pro football player and a non-All Pro, it’s really not that hard to get motivated for games like this because your job depends on games like this sometimes.”
