You may be familiar with the Netflix series called Wild Wild Country. It was released in March of 2018, about a community experiment spearheaded by an Indian spiritual guru named Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. It documents how he and his followers took over a portion of land in Wasco County, Oregon and the tiny town of Antelope back in the early 1980’s.
The documentary takes you through the struggles and tensions within these communities, which include criminal activity including a mass poisoning, attempted murder, arson, and wiretapping. The spiritual guru, Bhagwan Rajneesh, was known for owning and driving dozens of Rolls Royce cars and wearing diamond studded watches.
WTMJ’s Melissa Barclay recently interviewed one of the followers of the Indian guru and asked her about her experience at the controversial Oregon commune and her impressions of the Bhagwan.
