Despite spikes in COVID-19 cases in some parts of the country, President Trump’s administration has no plans to recommend further shutdowns.
Presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway told WTMJ’s Jeff Wagner another shutdown would create more issues.
“This president recognizes also that we can’t create a seperate pandemic within the pandemic, where people feel economically desperate,” she said.
“We’re facing the fourth month of monthly bills where some people have been out of work.”
She says reopening smartly and safely is the only option moving forward.
“A national lockdown, that is not going to happen,” she said.
