A report says that Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson has decided to end his plan to set up a Senate Homeland Security Committee vote to get a subpoena on an former official from Ukraine, in an attempt to get information about Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
NBC News says that Johnson was trying to get documents from Andriy Telizhenko, someone who consulted for a group representing Burisma Holdings – a company for which Hunter Biden served on the board of directors.
He reportedly told the committee he would attempt to get “an appearance directly from Blue Star Strategies,” the company representing Burisma.
Democrats say the move is politically motivated as an attempt to negatively affect Joe Biden’s campaign.
