MILWAUKEE– A man is charged with kidnapping a woman from Brady Street in Milwaukee and attempting to sexually assault her.
Surveillance footage shows 23-year-old Felipe Lopez-Simon allegedly found the woman sitting on the porch at Rochambu Coffee Shop on Brady Street, where he walked her towards his truck. The victim told police she had been out with friends at Jo-Cats, but did not recall leaving the bar.
He then forced the 24-year-old woman into a truck by the neck near North Warren Avenue and Brady Street, before he allegedly strangled her and she passed out.
He then drove her into the parking lot of the Pick N’ Save on Lyon Street where he attempted to sexually assault her.
The victim escaped and ran for help.
The woman suffered facial pain, a chipped tooth, and multiple abrasions.
She later identified Lopez-Simon in a photo lineup. A woman who identified Lopez-Simon as her boyfriend said the pair had been out that night, and he had left their shared apartment between 12:30 a.m. and 1:00 a.m.
He’s charged with sexual assault, battery, and strangulation facing around 50 years in prison if convicted.
