MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. — A 21-year-old woman from Racine was arrested after a gun went off during a confrontation in Mount Pleasant Tuesday afternoon.
Mount Pleasant police were called to the 1700 block of Durand Avenue around 4:57 p.m. for a report of shots fired. The incident was initially believed to have happened in Racine, prompting officers from both departments to respond.
The incident involved two women who knew each other. Investigators determined one of the women armed herself and attempted to confront the other while brandishing a gun.
A third person then tried to disarm the woman, causing the gun to fire. No one was hurt.
Police recovered two loaded guns. An investigation is ongoing.
