MILWAUKEE— With a bye week in hand, the Milwaukee Brewers have the week to prepare at American Family Field for another fun-filled playoff journey.
The team hosted a National League Division Series workout Tuesday. The Brewers will face the winner of the Cubs and Padres series which began Tuesday, September 29.
“Learning from what we did last year, knowing we’ve got to recover after a loss, and we just didn’t recover,” Brewers Manager Pat Murphy said. “This year we don’t win, we respond. I don’t think anyone’s going to go 11 games straight to win, everyone’s built for the world series.”
Murphy said that the Brewers are planning on being the team that no one expected, that’s going to continue to win.

“We’re going in, yea we’re young, but we ain’t going to be anybody’s underdog,” Murphy said. ”They’re not going to be surprised by us doing well, you know, so we looked to learn from that last year.”
Brewers Center Fielder Garrett Mitchell also chimed in, saying this is the time to come together and hone in on all that success throughout the season.
“I don’t think you worry too much about who you’re playing at this point in the year because you know whoever you play is going to be good, ” Mitchell said. “For us it’s just sticking with our preparations and doing what we do best. Just take it a day at a time and see where we’re at in a couple of days.”
The Brewers ended their regular season with a historic record of 103-59, posting the best record in baseball for the second year in a row.
The Brewers host either the Chicago Cubs or the San Diego Padres this weekend in the National League Divisional Series.
