MILWAUKEE — The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has officially inaugurated their 10th chancellor, Thomas Gibson.
Gibson was inaugurated Friday on the University’s 70th anniversary.
During his speech, he outlined three strategic priorities for UWM, including advancing student success, elevating innovation, and deepening community engagement.
“Milwaukee is our classroom, it is also where our work must show up. Our impact cannot stop at the borders of our campus,” said Gibson in his speech.
Gibson was selected by the Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents in March 2025, he began his tenure in July of last year.
Before joining UWM, he served as chancellor of the University of Wisconsin- Steven’s Point.
