Next Act Theatre’s production of Trayf celebrates a cast party with Sandy Maxx on What’s on Tap with actors A.J. Magoon, Alex Mitchell and director Elyse Edelman.
Trayf follows two 18-year-old Hasidic Jewish friends as they drive through 1990s New York in a mitzvah tank, encouraging others to perform good deeds while discovering more about themselves and the world around them. What begins as a humorous road-trip adventure becomes a story about faith, friendship, growing up and the choices that shape who people want to become.
The cast and director discuss the production’s Jewish cultural connections, the use of a real RV on stage and the praise they receive from playwright Lindsay Joelle.
Trayf runs at Next Act Theatre through Oct. 4, with a pay-what-you-can performance scheduled for Sept. 28.
