MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee man is charged with shooting a pregnant woman during an argument near Marquette University, and killing her unborn child.
According to a criminal complaint, 27-year-old Terrance Houston fired several shots off of his porch at a group on West Michigan Street.
The shooting happened during a confrontation over an alleged attack earlier in the day on August 21.
The group then fled before the woman, who was seven-months pregnant, realized she had been struck in the stomach.
She needed surgery, and her unborn baby later died.
In custody, Milwaukee police say Houston admitted to firing the gun at the group, chasing them, and then fleeing.
Houston is charged with first-degree reckless injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.
If convicted, he could face up to 56 years in prison.
