WEST ALLIS, Wis. — Multiple crews are on the scene of a massive building fire in West Allis that will be the site of the city’s new public works building that is under construction.
Fire crews responded around around 10:34 a.m. on August 20 near S. 53rd Street and W. Burnham Street.
Thick flames and heavy black smoke were seen coming from the roof of the building, with multiple agencies responding.
West Allis Assistant Fire Chief Armando Suarez del Real tells WTMJ that the fire was upgraded to a 3-alarm blaze, and that it is still too early to determine a cause for the fire.
So far, no injuries have been reported.
