SAINT FRANCIS, Wis. — No one was hurt after a fire broke out at St. Francis de Sales Seminary Wednesday morning.
The fire started around 9 a.m. on the front porch of Henni Hall during construction, according to a statement from Fr. Luke Strand.
St. Francis Fire Chief Nicholas Poplar said crews were able to contain the fire, but investigators will now work to determine exactly how it started.
“Any damage to a building from the 1800s is extensive, but being that it is exterior in nature means things that need to be identified smoke damage and water damage. That’s all way down the line,” said Chief Poplar.
No additional information about the extent of the damage was immediately available.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
