COLUMBOUS, Wis.—A Cedarburg man was seriously injured Sunday morning after his motorcycle struck a deer in Dodge County.
According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just before 8 a.m. on Highway 16/60 about a mile and a half east of Columbus.
Investigators say the 37-year-old rider hit a deer in the roadway, causing him to be thrown from the motorcycle.
He suffered serious injuries and was flown to UW Hospital in Madison.
The sheriff’s office says the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Highway 16/60 was closed for about two hours while deputies investigated the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
