PORTLAND, Ore. – The Wisconsin Badgers suffer another early exit in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
The five-seed Badgers fell 83-82 to 12-seed High Point March 19 in the first round of the tournament, following a back-and-forth exchange late in the second half that culminated in the game-winning layup for Panthers’ senior guard Chase Johnston.
Wisconsin senior Nick Boyd led scoring with 27 for the Badgers, but also had a potential go-ahead shot blocked late by High Point’s Owen Aquino.
The loss is Wisconsin’s third first-round tournament exit since 2019.
