Wales, Wis. — A pet food company based in Wales has recalled some of its chicken heart treats over possible Salmonella contamination.
Foodynamics is recalling specific lots of Raw Dog Barkery, BellePepper Cats, Kanu Pets and What’s In the Bowl freeze-dried pet treats.
A total of eight packages were distributed to retailers in Wisconsin, New York and Florida.
According to a U.S. FDA release, the company says it has traced all of the product distribution and contacted all direct customers. No illnesses in pets or humans have been reported.

Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea, fever and vomiting, or have decreased appetite and abdominal pain. Any pets with symptoms should see a veterinarian.
Humans handling contaminated pet products are at risk, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after contacting the products or any surfaces exposed to the products.
Recalled products should be disposed of or can be returned for a full refund.
Foodynamics says those with questions can contact Teresa Perry at [email protected] or call (262) 421-5339, Monday- Friday 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
