JANESVILLE, Wis. — A Janesville man is under arrest for trafficking a child from North Carolina.
29-year-old Adam Gurney from Janesville was arrested on August 12 without incident.
Janesville Police were contacted on August 12 by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office from North Carolina to reports of a missing girl. Their investigation showed that Gurney had traveled to Clay County to meet the girl and brought her back to Janesville.
Local police then went to Gurney’s home and saw him with the girl entering a car in the driveway. He was arrested on the spot and taken to the Rock County jail.
Officers were able to contact the girl’s parents, who picked her up.
Charges are pending.
