UPDATE at 7:30 a.m. on 8/24/25: WTMJ will carry an extended pregame show for the Brewers to include the team’s celebration of Bob Uecker. Brewers Radio Network Coverage will now start at 12:25 p.m.
First pitch for the Brewers v. Giants game will be at 1:40 p.m.
MILWAUKEE — Plans are coming together for the Bob Uecker Celebration at American Family Field on Sunday, August 24.
The Milwaukee Brewers are recommending that fans arrive early on game day, with gates opening early at 10:30 a.m. and fans are encouraged to be in their seats no later than 12:15 p.m.
Uecker has had a huge influence on the team this year, according to Senior VP and GM Matt Arnold.
“I definitely think he’s with us,” Arnold told WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News on Thursday. “It’s a real think. I think about him literally every single day. We all do. I was thinking about him (during the 12th win-in-a-row). It’s a real thing.”
A special live pregame program will be hosted by Bob Costas, broadcasting legend and close friend of Uecker for decades. A number of special guests from Ueckerโs life including family and friends from around the world will participate in the program, and featured during in-game activities and interviews.
Ilene Graff, who played Marsha Cameron Owens in the “Mr. Belvedere” TV show, will sing the National Anthem. Uecker played father George Owens during the five seasons of the show that ran from 1985 – 1990.
Fans will also experience one-of-a-kind Uecker memorabilia on display in four locations โ one on each level of the ballpark.
The Uecker memorial uniform patch will be available for this day only at the main Brewers Team Store, to apply to jerseys purchased that day and existing purchased jerseys.
All charitable proceeds from the 50/50 raffle that day will benefit charities supported by Uecker throughout his career.
“It is truly impossible to honor the iconic Bob Uecker in just one afternoon of celebration, but we are putting all of our resources into this special day,” said Brewers President โ Business Operations Rick Schlesinger.
“Bob truly was the embodiment of the Milwaukee Brewers, the soundtrack to our summers and the greatest ambassador to the world that Wisconsin will ever know. We miss him every day โ his voice, his passion and his perfectly timed humor โ but Sundayโs tribute is just the first step in continuing a celebration of his remarkable life and legacy.”
Uecker passed away on January 16, 2025, from small cell lung cancer at the age 90. Tributes to “Mr. Baseball” poured in the day he passed from across Wisconsin and around the world.
The Brewers will play the San Francisco Giants at 1:10pm on August 24, 2025. Tickets are limited.
