MILWAUKEE – Five Milwaukee-area Pick n’ Save stores will be closing, according to a statment from a Pick n’ Save spokesperson.
“We will offer each impacted associate the opportunity to transfer to a nearby location,” the spokesperson said in the statement. “This closure is part of a larger company-wide decision to run more efficiently and ensure long-term health of our business.”
The following Pick ‘n Save store locations will be closing:
- 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, Glendale
- 3701 S. 27thStreet, Milwaukee
- 2355 N 35th Street, Milwaukee
- 2931 S. Chicago Avenue, South Milwaukee
- 2320 W. Ryan Road, Oak Creek
The statement did not say when the stores will close.
Kroger, the nation’s largest operator of traditional supermarkets, announced last week it plans to close 60 of its grocery stores across the U.S. over the next 18 months.
Kroger owns Milwaukee-area grocer Roundy’s Supermarkets, the operator of Pick ‘n Save and Metro Market.
