FOREST COUNTY, Wis. — A teenager is in custody after making terroristic threats on social media against a high school.
The Forest County Sheriff’s Office received information around 10:00 a.m. on January 28th about a post on a social media app that read: “I am going to shoot up Lincoln High School at 12:30.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation determined the post was made from an address within Forest County.
Sheriffs determined a possible suspect and responded immediately to a residence in the Town of Wabeno, arresting a 16-year-old suspect around 11:00 a.m. and placed the suspect in a secure detention facility for making terroristic threats.
The Forest County Dispatch Center also contacted several law enforcement agencies that had a Lincoln High School in their jurisdiction as a result of the threat, since it was unclear which “Lincoln High School” was specifically targeted.
