It’s not hard for Packers fans to find friends outside of Wisconsin.
It seems as if every state has a spot for fans to gather and watch the green and gold on gameday, but the COVID-19 pandemic has made it a little more challenging this season.
“We would pack that bar on a big game–like the Bears or a playoff game–we could get 100 people,” said Elizabeth Billie, one of the organizers of the Milkboy Packers Club in Philadelphia. “We haven’t been able to watch together since right before Thanksgiving.”
Milkboy is the go-to spot for Packers fans in Philly, which can offer a Packers specific menu that includes Wisconsin beer.
“[Packers fans] will be from Philly, they’ll be from Jersey, they’ll be from California who come religiously,” Billie said. “I miss it, it’s so fun.”
While they’re hopeful for a chance to return for the team’s playoff run, they’ll be cheering on regardless.
“My friends, we’ve just been rotating at each other’s house,” she said. “Hopefully it will be back to normal next year.”
