WAUKESHA — A Waukesha city leader is tendering his resignation amid a recall effort and pending legal charges.
Alderman Aaron Perry announced he was stepping down Thursday morning on Twitter.
I resigned this morning. My best and support to all on here. The city staff, top to bottom are great in Waukesha. The next Alder will have my full support.

I’m in process of deleting all social accounts so this may not be up long. It’s been fun and a learning experience. ✌️????
Perry told WTMJ last week that he was not guilty of anything. He faces four charges related to an alleged domestic abuse incident in November.
Organizers of the recall said they also had concerns that Perry was living outside of the district his was representing.
WTMJ has reached out to Perry and recall organizers. This story will be updated.
