PEWAUKEE — A Pewaukee Staple, Michael’s House of Prime, was destroyed by a fire Wednesday and deemed a total loss.
As of Saturday afternoon, the GoFundMe for the 90-year-old restaurant sits just below $22,000, tripling their goal of $7,500.
“It is too early to ask what the next steps are, but there are people who will not be serving food, pouring drinks, parking cars, hosting holiday memories or collecting a paycheck today,” writes the fundraiser’s organizer, Charlotte Peterson.
“I ask that if you were planning on dining at Michael’s House of Prime this holiday season, think about that impact on the community. The building is gone, but the people are still here and they could use our neighborly support,” Peterson writes.
