A popular downtown Milwaukee sports bar is giving back to the city’s police and firefighters.
Major Goolsby’s distributed certificates for free meals at MPD’s district headquarters and fire stations around the city on Tuesday.
“It was our small token of appreciation,” said Major Goolsby’s Manager Marty Petricca to WTMJ. “We have always wanted to do it, however we’ve been closed from March until mid-August.”
Petricca added that they were also impacted by the death of Milwaukee Police Officer Thomas Kline, who took his own life last week.
“It was a good time to make sure they feel appreciated,” Petricca said. “We had worked with [Officer Kline] on DNC information and some other things also.”
Major Goolsby’s says it’s not just Tuesday that they’re honoring those on the frontlines. Any police officer, firefighter or military member in uniform can get 50% off of their meal at any time.
