A 31-year-old man is killed after a motorcycle they were driving was struck by a vehicle in downtown Milwaukee early Friday morning.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office says they got word of the accident around 12:37 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-43 near State Street.
When deputies arrived, they found emergency medical technicians were attempted life-saving measures on Nicholas A. Beshensky. However, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined a mid-size car struck the rear end of the motorcycle Beshensky was operating, which was traveling at a high rate of speed.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and showed no signs of impairment.
All lanes of I-43 northbound from the Marquette Interchange was in place for nearly four hours as investigators were at the scene.
This was the first of two fatal motorcycle accidents in Milwaukee Friday.
