The U.S. Surgeon General is promoting the use of face coverings.
Speaking with WTMJ’s Jeff Wagner, Jerome Adams says wearing a mask is important in helping slow the spread of coronavirus.
“It is a small inconvenience that actually increases our options, increases our freedom. It means that we can have more places open. We can learn to live with the virus and keep rates low and keep deaths low.”
The Office of the Surgeon General is part of the Health and Human Services Department.
The CDC officially recommends the wearing of face coverings while in public.
