‘Hello,” Milwaukee. Lionel Richie is coming to play “All Night Long.” (Unless Summerfest strictly enforces their midnight curfew.)
Anyway, bad jokes aside, Richie will be headlining the American Family Insurance Amphitheater on July 2 for this year’s festival.
Fellow pop/rock veteran vocalist/pianist Michael McDonald will join the performance.
Richie has mainly been in the public limelight via the ABC show “American Idol” as one of their judges. He has not appeared at Summerfest in 37 years, from his time with the Commodores in 1982.
This is his first-ever solo headlining performance at the “World’s Largest Music Festival.”
