MILWAUKEE- New Berlin State Assemblyman Joe Sanfelippo says he wants to put more power into the hands of local law enforcement when it comes to shutting down massage parlors accused of allowing illicit behavior.
Sanfelippo says right now, taking action, is a cumbersome process, “We just had one, most recently in New Berlin, that took them well over a year to complete their investigation.”
Sanfelippo citing a number of instances in which massage parlor busts happened in New Berlin, Oak Creek, Greenfield, Franklin, and Waukesha.
“The more time you spend looking at the situation the more you find that this isn’t a one off situation, it’s happening more frequently than we know,” Sanfelippo added. “We don’t want to circumvent the state’s process, we just want to give local law enforcement the power to shut down these bad actors sooner rather than later.”
Sanfelippo says the bill has bipartisan support and hopes to bring it to the assembly floor later this month.
