Governor Tony Evers has approved state funding to take care of part of a $100 million expansion of the Medical College of Wisconsin for a cancer research facility.
WTMJ news partner Milwaukee Business Journal says that Evers has approved $15 million of state funding in his capital budget, which the state legislature and state building commission must also approve.
Initially, MCW had asked for $25 million from the state for the facility which will be built on the current MCW grounds in Wauwatosa.
The facility will span 150,000 square feet, including laboratories.
