A letter which a news station in the Twin Cities says was sent to them by the suspect in the Jayme Closs kidnapping and murder case includes an apology and a plan to plead guilty to that kidnapping and the killing of the victim’s parents.
Jake Patterson sent KARE-TV in Minneapolis a letter saying he will plead guilty to charges and he doesn’t want Closs’ family “to worry about a trial.”
“I’m Sorry Jayme! For everything. I know it doesn’t mean much,” he said in the letter to KARE’s Len Raguse.
“No one will believe or can even imagine how sorry I am for hurting Jayme this much. Can’t express it.”
A criminal complaint said that Patterson kidnapped Closs and killed her parents back in October. She escaped to safety on January 10 after 88 days, and Patterson was arrested shortly afterward.
