Brewers General Manager David Sterns announcing Saturday that outfielder Keon Broxton has been traded to the New York Mets in exchange for three players. Broxton, who has been with the Brewers since 2015 batted .179 with 4 HR and 11 RBI in 51 games this season, spending the majority of the year at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
In exchange for Broxton the Brewers acquire right-handed pitchers Bobby Wahl and Adam Hill as well as infielder Felix Valerio. Wahl, who is a relief pitcher, has made 14 appearances out of the bullpen the last two years. He spent most of last season at triple-A going 4-2 with a 2.20 ERA and 12 saves in 38 games.
Adam Hill was the Mets 4th round pick in last year’s draft. He went 1-1 with a 2.35 ERA in 9 relief appearances at Class-A Brooklyn.
18-year old Felix Valerio spent his first professional season in the Dominican Summer league batting .319 with 3 HR, 22 RBI and 16 stolen bases in 67 games. He also totaled 84 hits which tied him for the league lead.
