Capture Sports Marketing’s Athletes Doing Good Radiothon will air on Thursday, May 21, with partner ESPN Wisconsin and one-day only host Milwaukee Bucks player Pat Connaughton.
To help those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic, funds raised during the event will go toward relief efforts led by Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin and the With Us Foundation.
The radiothon will air on 94.5 ESPN Milwaukee and 100.5 ESPN Madison from 7 A.M. to 6 P.M. Thursday, May 21, and feature interviews with Connaughton and other Wisconsin athletes and celebrities.
“By playing for the Milwaukee Bucks, I’ve come to appreciate the support the city of Milwaukee and state of Wisconsin give to our team and communities,” said Connaughton. “I knew that by playing a lead role in helping make this radiothon successful, I could not only help give back to the community, but share behind-the-scenes sports stories with fans who miss watching their favorite teams.”
Listeners will hear personal stories from some of their favorite athletes, have the opportunity to donate online to help people in their communities impacted by COVID-19 and bid on silent auction items.
“Our Athletes Doing Good initiative is a long-term effort to inspire others to do good by featuring stories of professional athletes and others in the sports industry who are making a difference,” said Chellee Siewert, president, Capture Sports Marketing.
“The radiothon in partnership with ESPN Wisconsin and Good Karma Brands is an avenue for athletes to help raise funds and awareness for some of the organizations that are supporting those who need it the most during this pandemic.”
