The Brewers' Cactus League schedule takes on a regular season feel Tuesday as the team plays its lone night game. An informal poll of several players confirms my suspicion: Major League Baseball players do not like the sound of alarm clocks.Â
“Alarm clocks are a bi-partisan issue,” explains Brewers Manager Craig Counsell, who is up in the five o'clock hour most mornings.Â
Reigning National League MVP Christian Yelich gets some extra shut-eye. His alarm goes off at 6.Â
“You kind of get used to it after a couple weeks of doing it…but it'll be nice for sure [sleeping in].”
While the idea of a night game is appealing to the players and Manager, keep in mind, the Brewers play a 1:00 game on Wednesday. That means a late night, and early wake-up call for all parties involved.Â
“I enjoy a night game during spring training,” says Counsell, “but the next day, we'll complain.”
