Milwaukee Police officer Jimmy Nowak’s wife wants others to benefit from his love.
Nowak was gravely injured when his vehicle hit a semi truck in Oak Creek last Sunday night. His family says his organs will ultimately be donated in order to save other lives.
Nowak’s former partner was officer Peter Jerving, who was shot and killed in the line of duty earlier this year.
“I’m really hurting. My heart is in a million pieces,” Julia said in a YouTube video posted Tuesday night. “A lot of people are really hurting right now.”
The video includes a montage of pictures of Nowak and his family.
“You were always the life of the party,” Julia said. “You always made everyone happy.”

Knowing that Nowak’s organs will be used to save other lives will help his family and fellow officers heal, said Chaplain Greg Young, of the Germantown Police Dept.
“Other lives are living because of him,” Young told WTMJ N.O.W. on Wednesday. “That fact that he’s helping save lives can bring some degree of healing.”
