Former Green Bays Packers head coach Mike McCarthy is part of the focus in a formal complaint filed to the WIAA regarding an incident of referee abuse at a high school boys basketball playoff game Tuesday.
WLUK-TV reports the incident took place at Pulaski High School right after the end of the game between Pulaski and Notre Dame Academy. They were able to obtain surveillance video from the school showing a person, who Pulaski officials identified as McCarthy, walking towards and following the three-person officiating crew as they were leaving the court, using words Pulaski’s Athletic Director Janel Batten described as unsportsmanlike.

A referee confirmed to WLUK-TV there was an “unfortunate situation” that he described as a “verbal tirade.”
The WIAA confirms a formal abuse against contest officials complaint has been filed for this game, though they are confidential.
McCarthy has been a regular attendee of Notre Dame Academy boys basketball games this season, with a stepson playing for the team. Tuesday’s game was a loss for them at Pulaski, ending their season.
