It’s the first go-round at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis for new Packers coach Matt LaFleur. That’s just another thing he has to adjust to in the major life changes that come with becoming an NFL head coach for the first time.
LaFleur told Jason Wilde of WTMJ sister station ESPN Milwaukee that he has to adjust to life without his family – at least on a temporary basis.
“There are pluses and minuses to to be honest with you. The pluses are, I don’t have to worry about rushing through and get done with my work,” LaFleur described to Wilde.
“The minuses are that obviously I don’t get to see my family as much. I have a great wife, and she gets to take care of our boys.”
At least for now, until the family relocates to Titletown.
Meanwhile, this is GM Brian Gutekunst’s second time as a general manager at the Combine. He’s focusing his energies now on whom he may draft, but that focus will change soon with free agency coming.
“The free agency classes are small, but I think there are good players out there,” Gutekunst told Wilde.
“There are going to be some opportunities to help our football team. We’re working towards those now…we’re going to be ready to go if it makes sense for our football team.”
