A day in the life of a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper can involve many different calls for service or assistance. For Trooper Scott Darin, one of those calls meant administering CPR and reviving a woman who had choked on food and had no pulse.
Trooper Darin, who has served for two years with the Wisconsin State Patrol, hails from Slinger, Wisconsin and serves the Washington County area.

His assistance, along with the help of the Washington County Sheriff's office was critical in saving the life of a woman who was reported by dispatch to be unresponsive and non breathing in the Pioneer Plaza truck stop parking lot.
When he arrived, he talked briefly with the woman's husband, and immediately began life-saving measures including a finger sweep of her throat and chest compressions. His actions, along with the other public safety officers on scene, saved the woman's life.
He talked about how calls like this impact him.
“Events like this linger in your mind, you think about it, even the good ones and the bad ones, they stay with you. You use all those experiences to continue performing positively on the job,” he said.
For his commitment to public service and his direct actions to save the life a woman, Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper Scott Darin is today's WTMJ Cares Salute to Service Award winner.
