Milwaukee County has just released its latest information on COVID-19, with a sobering milestone reached Thursday: More than 3,000 people testing positive for the virus.
The county’s latest statistics say 3,016 people in the county have had a positive test, a 4.1 percent rise in cases – a smaller percentage rise in positive tests compared to recent days.
The largest geographic grouping of cases in the last seven days have come on Milwaukee’s south side, south of I-94 and east of Miller Park Way.
Hospitalized patient totals, ventilator and ICU bed usage are all down slightly.
The county’s established goal of total testing is at least 2,000 tests, but tests have only been in the lower hundreds in recent days.

The number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus in Milwaukee County is heading toward 3,000.
As of this morning, there are 2,938 positive tests for people in the county – a rise of 128 tests in the last 24 hours. That is an increase of 4.6 percent over the last 24 hours.
More details on hospital capacity and other aspects of the pandemic in the area are expected later this afternoon.

86 more people in Milwaukee County have tested positive for coronavirus since Tuesday afternoon, according to the newest numbers released by Milwaukee County. There are now 2,810 tests in Milwaukee County, leading to 6,377 positive tests between the Milwaukee County numbers this morning and Tuesday’s latest State of Wisconsin total.
That is a 3.2 percent rise in cases.
Test availability has increased, which could understandably lead to a rise in cases.

The state of Wisconsin says that 300 people who have had a positive coronavirus test in the state of Wisconsin have died since the pandemic reached our state.
The state’s total of coronavirus cases has risen to 6,291 cases in the state, combining the state’s newest totals and Milwaukee County’s update from Tuesday morning, which is more updated than the state’s total.

At least 6,131 people in Wisconsin have now contracted coronavirus, based upon new numbers from Milwaukee County this morning and Monday’s statewide totals.
The county says 2,724 people have contracted the virus as of 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. That is a 1.6 percent rise in total cases compared to Monday morning at that time.
More data on hospital situations in Milwaukee County is expected at 2:30 p.m. today.
Monday, 2:33 p.m.
With the newest totals from Milwaukee County just released, Wisconsin’s total coronavirus cases now have reached 6,115 people.
2,708 people in Milwaukee County have contracted the virus as of 2:30 p.m. Monday. That is an 81-case increase and about a 3.1 percent case increase.
The number of increases had been more than 100 each day late last week, but had gone down over the weekend.
Almost 2,000 cases – exactly 1,991 – come from the City of Milwaukee.
The numbers of currently hospitalized people, ventilator usage, ICU bed usage and total floor bed usage all went up in the last 24 hours.
Monday, 1:41 p.m.
The State of Wisconsin says that more than 6,000 people have contracted coronavirus in the state.
Department of Health Services Secretary Andrea Palm revealed that 6,081 people had contracted the virus, based on numbers collected from all 72 Wisconsin counties – a 2.8 percent rise from Sunday.
According to Secretary Palm, 61,311 people had negative tests.

As the number of available tests for coronavirus increase in Wisconsin, so do the number of positive tests – perhaps offering a more accurate view of the spread of COVID-19.
Milwaukee County’s just-released data shows 2,682 people having contracted the virus.
Combining the Monday morning numbers from Milwaukee County and the state’s numbers, there have now been 5,964 positive tests in the state.
