While much of the summer schedule for festivals in Southeastern Wisconsin has been either canceled or delayed due to concerns over the spread of coronavirus, the Wisconsin State Fair so far has been one of the few large events in Wisconsin that has not yet taken that step.
On Monday, the State Fair shared its latest status – one which does not state whether they will hold the festival on the current schedule of August 6-16, postpone the Fair or cancel it for the year. But it does discuss the elements involved in which step to take.

There are many factors to be considered. Several large industries, including agriculture, entertainment, concessions and ride operations, as well as hundreds of small businesses and thousands of part-time employees, are paramount to putting on a successful Fair. (4/7)

We are analyzing all facets of the Fair, while continuing to closely monitor data from local, state and federal health officials, and assess how this will affect each one. (5/7)

At this time the State Fair Park Board of Directors has not made a formal decision on whether the State Fair will go on as planned, August 6 – 16. Until a decision is made, we will continue to work tirelessly to make the Fair the WonderFair experience you know and love. (6/7)
