He’s an 18-year veteran with six All-Star appearances and two NBA Championship rings. He’s now reportedly going to be a Milwaukee Buck.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Pau Gasol is “planning to sign” with the Bucks. The Journal Sentinel’s Matt Velazquez says he will have to clear waivers.
Gasol is not necessarily producing at his All-Star caliber level at 38 years old. He is only averaging 4.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in 27 games and six starts with the San Antonio Spurs.
He has not played in six of the Spurs’ last eight games and was inactive in much of November and December due to a stress fracture in his foot.
However, his championship pedigree could be a key in many ways on the team, if for no other reason than his locker room presence.e
