A fresh batch of snow on the ground on the first day of spring isn’t ideal for everyone, but for those who rely on the white stuff to make money, it’s welcomed with open arms.
Since the start of February, Vilas County, which is located as far north as you can go in the central part of the state, has gotten more than fifty inches of snow.
“Once you dig out, it’s wonderful.” That’s the message from Vilas County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Director Cindy Burzinski.
In Burzinski’s line of work, more snow, means more money in the bank and bodies in Vilas County, “We have had winters prior where there was less snow and a lot of things suffered.”
