A Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver who starred on the Badgers’ Rose Bowl team after fighting legal trouble is now a Detroit Lion.
The Lions drafted Quintez Cephus in the NFL Draft’s 5th round Saturday.
Cephus led the Badgers with 59 catches for 901 yards this season. He also had 7 receiving touchdowns. During his tenure in Madison his racked up 93 catches for 1496 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Cephus was suspended from the team in August 2018 after prosecutors charged him with sexually assaulting two women in his apartment the preceding April. The university expelled him earlier this year before he finished the spring semester.
A jury acquitted him of the charges earlier this month and Chancellor Rebecca Blank allowed him to return to school.
