Are we to a point where non-essential Wisconsin businesses should re-open?
Governor Tony Evers has pushed a policy that lets scientific data make the determination, instead of being beholden to the calendar.
However, Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow believes that businesses need a solid, committed date to be able to function.
“What businesses look for is consistency and reliability, especially from government,” said Farrow on WTMJ’s “Wisconsin’s Afternoon News.”
“You can talk about all the policy, the plays going on in Madison. What we need is a leader who is going to step up and say ‘Here is what we are going to do.’ “
Farrow did speak to the need to work on not just testing, but further steps to help slow the spread of coronavirus while making a commitment to businesses and stop what he called a potential “economic crisis.”
“The contact tracing, being able to go out and when a test is positive, we contact those individuals to find out who they’ve been around….when you look at Waukesha County…we actually have 104 active cases. We have been able to clear almost 160 people through the recovery process because of contact tracing,” said Farrow.
“That’s how we can keep the spread down county-by-county. We can find out what the impact was and get to it right away.”
