It was almost a week ago that Governor Evers tweeted out his opposition to signing an executive order postponing Tuesday’s election.
We have three branches of government to ensure a system of checks and balances, and questions about our elections typically rely on all three playing a role. If I could have changed the election on my own I would have but I can’t without violating state law.

Today his administration is telling WTMJ’s John Mercure new information that came out with each passing day forced the governor to change his mind.
“These are unprecedented circumstances,” said Joel Brennan, head of the Department of Administration. “It’s never too late to do the right thing.”
