MILWAUKEE- The wheels of the next major project for downtown Milwaukee are now in motion.
On Friday, the Wisconsin Center District board got an opportunity to view the artist renderings for the proposed expansion of the Wisconsin Center.
The proposed expansion would modernize both the interior, and exterior of the building while adding more than 100,000 square feet of convention space.
The project also comes with a price tag of somewhere between $400 and $425-million dollars, which has caused some hesitancy among those on the Milwaukee Common Council to voice their full support of the project.
WTMJ’s Mike Spaulding caught up with Wisconsin Center District CEO Marty Brooks to discuss the project itself, his vision for Milwaukee’s west town neighborhood, and how they plan to take advantage of the DNC to promote Milwaukee as a destination city. Their full conversation can be heard in the player above.
