MILWAUKEE (AP) – A man has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for mailing threats to a Jewish Community Center in suburban Milwaukee.
Thirty-three-year-old Chadwick Grubbs was sentenced Friday. Federal prosecutors say he mailed the threats to the Harry and Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center in Whitefish Bay last May while he was an inmate at the Winnebago County Jail.
Sheriff’s officials became aware of the threats when the letters were returned undelivered.
The government says Grubbs threatened to use firearms to cause “maximum carnage” and threatened to use explosives to destroy the center. The letters also contained symbols associated with white supremacist ideology.
Grubbs pleaded guilty to three counts in November.
