Comedian Jay Leno doesn’t think stand-up comedy has changed much since he first started in the 70’s.
“Funny is funny,” Leno told WTMJ. “The only thing that has changed is the audience’s attention span. Now (comics) have to hit the joke within the first 10 seconds.”
As for comedy in the age of Trump, it can be a challenge, according to Leno.
“With comedy, you take something that is fairly conservative, and you make it outrageous,” he explained. “There is nothing Trump does that isn’t so exaggerated already. It’s crazy ridiculous already!”
Leno will be in Milwaukee next weekend for the Grand Slam Charity Jam, presented by Kapco Metal Stamping. Click here for tickets.
