The microbrewery boom has been taking the beer world by storm and has led to a crop of many new and exciting breweries all across Wisconsin—some even let customers get in on the action.

Union Corners’ Community Brew Session —Madison
Ever had an idea for a beer that you wish someone would try to make? Union Corners Brewery, located on Madison’s east side, does just that. Â
- Roughly once a week, Union Corners picks a customer submission and turns it into a recipe.
- This recipe is then brewed during an open public session called a Community Brew Session. Whoever submitted the idea gets to name it.
- Union Corners serves five to eight of its own beers, five to six community brews and five to eight guest beers.
Â
Mob Craft—Milwaukee
MobCraft is the world’s first completely crowdsourced brewery.
- Customers can submit ideas for beers they want brewed, then vote on a monthly batch. The recipe with the most votes each month gets brewed and beer drinkers get to sample their own creations.
- Recent unique recipes have included an imperial cream ale aged in tequila barrels, and a cinnamon apple weizen brewed with apple cider.
- Stop by their taproom in Milwaukee to try all of their tasty creations.

Wisconsin Brewing Company’s Campus Craft Project—Verona
- The program was born in the spring of 2014, when Wisconsin Brewing Company’s brewmaster met students fresh out of their fermentation class at UW-Madison. They had created a milk stout and offered him a sample—and thus the campus craft brewery was born.
- University of Wisconsin-Madison students from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication work with the brewery to formulate, produce, brand and market a new beer each year.
- Creations include Re: Fresh Radler, a light and juicy blend of grapefruit soda and a classic lager beer, and S’Wheat Caroline American Wheat Ale, inspired by warm summer days on the Memorial Union Terrace.
