The Green Bay Packers enter the month of December with a record of 8-3.
Three of the Packers final five games will be played at Lambeau Field.
Four of the Packers final five games will be played against teams currently under-500.
With respect to the Eagles, Bears, Lions and Panthers, the Packers next measuring-stick game comes in a week-16 tilt against the Tennessee Titans (8-3).
“You know what Tennessee is going to do,” Packers Hall of Famer Mark Chmura tells Wisconsin’s Afternoon News. “They’re going to line up and run [Derrick] Henry down your throat.”
Henry leads the NFL in rushing with 1,257 yards. At 6’3″ and 250 pounds, Henry is built to punish defenders regardless of the conditions, but especially when temperatures dip below freezing.
In his last three games, Henry has rushed for 414 yards and four touchdowns.
“This is going to be [Mike] Pettine’s season.” Chmura adds. “If he can shut them down or contain Henry…that could be the game that gets them the number-1 seed.”
In truth, wins against the lesser teams on the schedule could be enough for the Packers to earn the number-1 seed in the NFC. But a win against the Titans would provide a better glimpse of the Packers relative strength heading into the post-season.
