MADISON – Barry Alvarez, athletic director at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is expected to announce soon that he is retiring, according to a report in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Alvarez is expected to share his plan in the next few weeks, according to the report.
The Badgers have won 16 national team titles under his reign as Athletic Director.
Alvarez turned 74 years old in December.
