WTMJ’s Wis. Morning News defines an EVERYDAY HERO as “an average Jon/Jane Doe who, when they woke up one morning, had no idea they’d be saving a life.”

In England, 12-year-old Zac Howells was honored for rescuing his mother who had passed out while driving. Nicola Crump lost consciousness with her foot still on the gas pedal, according to the West Mercia Police Dept.
The boy grabbed the wheel and drove the vehicle into the grass before calling emergency dispatch. No one was hurt. Howell’s mother is doing ok.
“For a 12-year-old to react in such a calm and mature manner is magnificent and I would like to express my gratitude for his actions that day,” said Chief Constable Richard Cooper. “His display of bravery certainly extinguished any danger to them both but also that of other members of the public who were on the road.”
Thank you Zac for being an EVERYDAY HERO!
